Living life in the carpool lane..

Posts Tagged ‘thanksgiving

Ok.. so I dropped the ball on the whole “Thankful November” thing I wanted to do this year..

I figured that since tomorrow is Thanksgiving, I’d make up for it and just do a post about what I’m thankful for..

Obviously, I’m thankful for family.  Not only my little family of Hubby, M and I, but my entire family.. parents, brother, aunts, uncles, cousins, in laws, sibling-in-laws, nieces, nephews.. you related to me?  I’m thankful for you.. A major source of support and love comes from all of you.  I can’t thank you all enough for just being in my life.

I’m especially thankful for M.  She’s my endless source of unconditional love and entertainment.  That girl loves me, and I hope that I never disappoint her.  I’m so thankful that she’s the little person I get to raise.

I’m thankful for Hubby.  He is my partner in crime.  He is my teammate.  I am so very thankful that I get to spend the rest of my life with him.  He’s loving, he’s supportive, he’s entertaining, and he’s challenging.  I love him and I can’t wait to see what else our lives have in store for us.

I’m thankful for the roof over my head.

I’m thankful for the ability to wake up every morning.

I’m thankful that I can function from day to day.

I’m thankful for my friends.  I’ve had to let go of some the negativity in my inner circle and regain my bearings.  I’m just thankful for the friends I do have helped keep my trust in basic friendships.  I’m thankful for the new friends I’ve made this past year and I’m thankful for the friendships of the past that have been rekindled due to social networking.

I’m thankful for crafting.

I’m thankful for photographs.

I’m thankful for cameras.

I’m thankful for coffee.

I’m thankful for 2013.

I’m thankful for life.

There are so many other things I’m thankful for.  I’ve probably forgotten some major ones and I’m sure I’ll remember them once this entry has been published…

I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving and a great beginning of the holiday season.

I will be taking the day off from the blog tomorrow to spend time with my family.. I hope you all have the opportunity to share this holiday with your family!

It was a great Thanksgiving weekend.  We were surrounded by family and it was fun.

Thanksgiving Day brought us to my inlaws house.  The entire family gets together to hang out and have some yummy food.  This was the first time M got to eat Thanksgiving food.  Last year she was too young.

The following day, instead of getting sucked into the Black Friday shopping, we decided to do something different.  We went to Balboa Park and hit up the science museum there.  It’s a great experience.  There were tons of hands on exhibits.  Little M had so much fun playing with all the things there.  We also walked around to some of the gardens, chased pigeons, spent some quality family time.  Just me, Hubby, and M.

That night my parents and brother came so we went out for dinner.

Saturday, we went out for lunch and wanted to go walking around.  The initial thought was to the mall, but we decided on something else for a change.

I’ve lived in San Diego for just about two years now and I take for granted all the touristy things that one can do in this city that is just practically in my backyard!

So we took the family to La Jolla Cove.  That was a very fun time.  Little M did NOT like the sand at all.  Hopefully by next summer, she’ll be over it so we can have some fun at the beach.

Sunday we finally did some shopping.  I didn’t make the slightest dent into my Christmas List, but I still have some time..

How was your thanksgiving weeked?

Good grief, this holiday snuck up on me!

I can’t believe it’s Thanksgiving!  When did that happen?!  Didn’t we just start November?!

Now I really have to think about Christmas shopping!  I have to be totally prepared and not have that holiday sneak up on me like Thanksgiving has…

So, it’s Thanksgiving.. what am I thankful for..

So so so many things..

I’m definitely thankful for my little family.  Me, Hubby, and M.  I’m thankful for all the little adventures we go through everyday.

I’m thankful for parents.  My parents and hubby’s parents.  They have been such a huge support system for us.

I’m thankful for health.

I’m thankful for happiness.

I’m thankful for love.

There is so many things I’m thankful that I can’t list them all in one post.

Am I the only one that though this holiday caught off-guard?

What are you thankful for?

So.. I’m not the traditional “black Friday” person that camps out in front of a Wal-Mart.. or ventures out to stores at 2am.. nope.. I love my warm bed and adore my sleep.

That being said.. I was still able to participate in some Black Friday festivities.. at MICHAEL’S CRAFT STORE!!!

They are having some awesome sale items.. and Cricut cartridges are about 60% off!  It’s amazingly cheap.. and I love that!  I bought two cartridges.. a ton of paper.. and all these doo-dads.. and odds and ends.. and crafty markers and stuff..

Hubby seemed overwhelmed.. hahah..

I didn’t want to do any other Black Friday shopping.. other than Michaels..

Great thing is that they had all these coupons I could print out.. one for every day of this weekend.. today there was a 25% off entire purchase coupon if used from opening til noon.. then.. there was a coupon for 50% off a single item to be used from noon til closing..

We did the obvious thing and hit up the store TWICE.. gotta love my patient, understanding hubby that totally went along with it all..

I think we tackled our first Black Friday together with much success..

Hope everyone else had a successful day today..

It’s Thanksgiving day.. it’s usually a time for everyone to acknowledge everything that they are thankful for.

Me?

Well.. I’m especially thankful for the awesome God that has been in my life since day one.  He has given me so many blessings and shown me how strong of a person I really am.  He never gives me anything I cannot handle, and because of that I have learned of the many strengths I have, thanks to Him.

My life would be nothing without Him.  I would have nothing without Him.

I am thankful for my wonderful parents and my wonderful family.. immediate and extended.. who have been nothing but supportive in everything..

I’m thankful that my brief period of unemployment was exactly that.. brief.  I’m thankful that I was able to find a job within a month after quitting my new one.  I’m thankful that I will be starting on Monday.. it’s going to be a new adventure.. and I can’t wait!

I’m thankful for all the wonderful friends I have.. they are a source of happiness and laughs.. I cherish the times I can spend with them.. and hope for many more years of friendship!

I’m thankful for my wonderful boyfriend, who has been absolutely supportive in everything I have done.. who believes in teamwork.. and helps me carry any burden I have gone through.. he’s become such a strong rock of support in my life and I cherish every moment we can spend together.  I’m thankful for having him in my life.. even though he can drive me batty at times.. hahaha..

There are many things I am thankful for.. but I’m sure that if I list them all this blog entry would never end!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
