I’ve noticed that since I’ve officially become a stay at home mom, that I’ve been really exploring my artistic side.

I’ve spent most of my academic life and my career focused on the sciences.  To balance out my brain, I would make some cards and recently started scrapbooking.

Now that I don’t have to worry about working, I’ve started to try to expand my artsy side.  I’ve been playing with the paints that were left over from my daughter’s Christmas crafts.  I’ve been playing with my watercolor palette to make more cards.  I’ve also started a very rough and tumble version of ‘art journaling’ now that I am participating in the “listers gotta list” monthly challenge.

I have a Day Designer Today and To Do planner.  I find myself doodling and using colors to put in my daily tasks and reminders.

I have an artistic side.

I’m finding it very therapeutic and fun to do after a long day of trying to keep two little girls safe and fed and alive.  After a day of threenager tantrums and baby spit up, it’s nice to sit at my craft table and just create.  It eases my mind and I feel refreshed..

Look back – A, B

Crafting.  We all know I do it.  I scrapbook.  I make cards.  I’ve recently learned how to sew.

I have plans for my handmade goods.  I want to sell them.  I want to create an internet presence with them.  I want to make some extra spending money with them.

But, I had a baby.

Crafting time is now a rare moment and only happens when I HAVE to create something, not when I WANT to create something.

For now, I’m working on a custom party order.  My friend that placed the order knows of my new baby and how my time is very limited, so she asked me far in advanced to create the items needed.  Thank God for thinking of my situation!  It’s great to find the time to work on it, knowing that it as to be out by a certain time.

I know that I will eventually find a way to schedule more crafting time in my already busy mommy-life.  Until then, I just have to squeeze it in whenever I can.

I’ve been crafting.  I’m sure you can tell.

Quilts.  Pinterest projects.  Scrapbooks.  Cards.  Ricebags.

I do have a craft blog, CutieQ Cards n Crafts.  It’s a place where I concentrate soley on crafting, particular cards and scrapbooking.  The goal of that blog is to feature cards that I put on Etsy and hope to sell.

That blog has been stagnant since May 2014.

It’s hard to keep up a craft blog.  There is a lot of photography, watermarking, uploading.. technical stuff.

It got hard to balance this blog with that blog, then all the pregnancy issues came about… so my entire life was put on hold.

Now that things are relatively ok (modified bedrest allows me time to sit up and craft, type and actually do stuff), I’ve been thinking about that blog again.

I still have dreams and goals of selling my handmade cards and other goods, but I have to be realistic and put that on hold for awhile.  A new baby will make it hard to keep up with inventory and orders.

I know starting up the crafting blog while pushing 8 months into a pregnancy is not the best idea.  Things are going to get hectic again and I just might not be able to keep up with it all.  But I want to do this.  I need to do this.

So, I’m going to do it.

It’s going to be a once a week blog, updating every Monday.  I’m going to try to keep up with holidays and seasons.  I will try to make it a well-rounded blog about all the different methods of crafting that I am dabbling in.  Eventually, I will start to feature items that I intend on selling and will reactivate the Etsy store with all the featured items.

The blog relaunches on December 1st.  In the meantime, check out what I’ve done in the past by clicking the link, CutieQ Cards n Crafts.

My craft blog has been on hold for a good part of this year.

I know I started the year saying that I would take on the crafting aspect of my life head-on and move forward and make things fabulous.  I said I’d blog three times a week.  I said I’d put more things on Etsy.  I said I’d be creating a lot.

Well..

I’ve stopped blogging.  My Etsy endeavors are totally fruitless.

I do still create a lot.

I’ve been focusing more on my Facebook page and posting a lot of my Instagram page.

This ARE in the works, but it just means that the craft blog had to take a little break.  I’m working on establishing myself a little bit more.  I’m working with my brother on creating a logo for my cards.  I’m working on opportunities that I can’t wait to share.  I will revamp my blog soon enough.

I’m still cardmaking and you can follow me on Facebook by going to CutieQ Cards n Crafts.

You can find me on Instagram by searching: CutieQCards.

If you want to see my cardmaking and scrapbooking, go to the CutieQ Cards n Crafts blog.

Things are going to happen, its just taking some time..

For the first part of February, I will be counting down my 14 loves  until I get to February 14th.  This is a great way to get back to blogging daily again, and a way to make Valentine’s Day worth it this year!

I love Fridays!

Who doesn’t love Fridays, especially when your work schedule is Monday-Friday?!  Fridays are the light at the end of a workweek tunnel.  Fridays are awesome.

That’s all I have to say about that!

I love scrapbooking.

I officially started scrapbooking last year.  I attempted to do a Project Life type year long scrapbooking project and failed miserably.  While creating my weekly scrapbook pages, I got the itch to try an actual traditional scrapbook layout.  I did one and fell in love!  I’ve decided to scrapbook layouts on 8 1/2 x 11 paper, not 12 x 12 like most scrapbookers use.

It’s a great creative outlet and allows me to create an album of memories for M to hopefully enjoy as she gets older.

I hope she will learn to appreciate these fun layouts of pictures and memories.  I’m so glad I started scrapbooking.  I only wish I did it sooner!
