(Hubby goes into second bedroom to see the boxes on the floor and sees a piece of crafting machinery on the floor..)

Hubby:  Oh, so you plugged the printer in?
Me:  Uh.. no.  That’s the Cricut.. duh!  What’s more important!?!

(Hubby looks at me.. shaking his head..)

Ok.. so that may only be funny to me and to my other crafty friends.. but it’s noteworthy..

I miss my little “things _____say..” segments.. hahah..

So.. I’m not the traditional “black Friday” person that camps out in front of a Wal-Mart.. or ventures out to stores at 2am.. nope.. I love my warm bed and adore my sleep.

That being said.. I was still able to participate in some Black Friday festivities.. at MICHAEL’S CRAFT STORE!!!

They are having some awesome sale items.. and Cricut cartridges are about 60% off!  It’s amazingly cheap.. and I love that!  I bought two cartridges.. a ton of paper.. and all these doo-dads.. and odds and ends.. and crafty markers and stuff..

Hubby seemed overwhelmed.. hahah..

I didn’t want to do any other Black Friday shopping.. other than Michaels..

Great thing is that they had all these coupons I could print out.. one for every day of this weekend.. today there was a 25% off entire purchase coupon if used from opening til noon.. then.. there was a coupon for 50% off a single item to be used from noon til closing..

We did the obvious thing and hit up the store TWICE.. gotta love my patient, understanding hubby that totally went along with it all..

I think we tackled our first Black Friday together with much success..

Hope everyone else had a successful day today..

I made this card today.. I might be going to a birthday party tomorrow and I thought I’d make a card instead of buying one at the local Hallmark.. I have a Cricut now.. and that’s one of the reasons I bought one.. so I can expand on my creative energy and handmake cards and gifts..

I actually didn’t use the Cricut as much with this card.  I did use the Stand and Salute cartridge to make the card.  I cut it at 8″ and it worked out well.  I tried to do the envelope too, but I also set it to 8″ and it was way too small.  But since I only  had 8 x 11 paper, the machine wouldn’t let me make an envelope big enough to fit the card.. I’m sure I’ve got some envelops lying around.. or I could always buy a big pack at the local office supply store.

I had the scalloped squares from a person I bought stamps from on and they worked out so well for this card.. I love the colors..

I think I’m going to get a cartridge that has those scalloped shapes so that I could make some of those.. I liked what the did for the card.

I have so much patterned paper but I still dont’ know how to coordinate it with my projects.. I keep looking at videos on Youtube about cardmaking and I love what they do.. but I just don’t know how I can replicate that with the stuff that I have..

If you have any suggestions.. comments.. or criticism.. please leave comments.. I’d love more ideas for some projects..

Wedding planning has definitely slowed down in these past few weeks..

The running around trying to find vendors is all done.. I’m pretty much set with all the people I’ll needing to work with.. except my day-of wedding planner.. I still need to consult with Joe about that before I finally book it.. I really want a day-of planner..  I think it would relieve a lot of the day-of stresses that could occur..

We’ll see..

But what I am experiencing is the calm before the storm..

I’m just putting the simple things together before I dive into invitation making.. and after the invitations get mailed the chaos of table seating charts and rsvps will begin.. but I’m ready for that.. I’ve got my computer and a calm head.. sort of.. mainly I’ve got my mom and aunts to help me with that..

I’m just enjoying the calm..

Sometimes I wish the wedding would come sooner.. but that’s because there’s nothing for me to be scrambling about doing at the moment.. I just enjoy the browsing and daydreaming.. and helping other friends that have found themselves planning a wedding themselves..

Oh ya.. and I’ve also gotten into paper crafts.. I bought my Cricut Expressions and I’m in love with it.. I’ve already made birthday cards for Joe and his mom.. they look decent.. once I build my arsenal of material.. I think my projects will start looking better..

I’ll post pictures of my work.. I promise..

Right now they are in a Facebook album called “Cricut creations..”

I love it!!!
