Christmas could not have come soon enough this year.  I think you can tell by my rare blog entries that it’s been a real challenge to keep from drowning in my “to-do list.”

It’s been a definite struggle to get everything ready.. between M and I getting sick.. and all the other obstacles we had to get through.. I’m exhausted!

But M is totally enjoying this holiday season.  It’s puts things into perspective having a kid around..

She LOVES Christmas lights, Christmas trees, Christmas songs..

I love the way her eyes light up when we drive through neighborhoods with the awesomely lit homes.  I love the amazement in her eyes as she looks up a gigantic Christmas tree.  I love her reaction to seeing Santa Claus at the mall.  I love how she continually finds her “hidden” Christmas gifts in the closet and gets so excited knowing that she has those toys..

I love the way she appreciates the Christmas lights hanging in our apartment and the little 4ft tree that only has lights as it’s decoration…  I love how she always asks to turn “Christmas on” when ever we are home…

She helped me feel the Christmas spirit again.  She’s helped me feel the warmth and joy of the simple things that Christmas is about.

It’s my job now to teach her WHY we have Christmas.  I know that at this age, it’s all about the lights and the presents.. but as she gets older, I hope to really instill in her the reasons why we have this holiday and that it will help her appreciate this season even more..

Merry Christmas to all my blog readers.  May you be blessed during this holiday season!

Ok.. so I dropped the ball on the whole “Thankful November” thing I wanted to do this year..

I figured that since tomorrow is Thanksgiving, I’d make up for it and just do a post about what I’m thankful for..

Obviously, I’m thankful for family.  Not only my little family of Hubby, M and I, but my entire family.. parents, brother, aunts, uncles, cousins, in laws, sibling-in-laws, nieces, nephews.. you related to me?  I’m thankful for you.. A major source of support and love comes from all of you.  I can’t thank you all enough for just being in my life.

I’m especially thankful for M.  She’s my endless source of unconditional love and entertainment.  That girl loves me, and I hope that I never disappoint her.  I’m so thankful that she’s the little person I get to raise.

I’m thankful for Hubby.  He is my partner in crime.  He is my teammate.  I am so very thankful that I get to spend the rest of my life with him.  He’s loving, he’s supportive, he’s entertaining, and he’s challenging.  I love him and I can’t wait to see what else our lives have in store for us.

I’m thankful for the roof over my head.

I’m thankful for the ability to wake up every morning.

I’m thankful that I can function from day to day.

I’m thankful for my friends.  I’ve had to let go of some the negativity in my inner circle and regain my bearings.  I’m just thankful for the friends I do have helped keep my trust in basic friendships.  I’m thankful for the new friends I’ve made this past year and I’m thankful for the friendships of the past that have been rekindled due to social networking.

I’m thankful for crafting.

I’m thankful for photographs.

I’m thankful for cameras.

I’m thankful for coffee.

I’m thankful for 2013.

I’m thankful for life.

There are so many other things I’m thankful for.  I’ve probably forgotten some major ones and I’m sure I’ll remember them once this entry has been published…

I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving and a great beginning of the holiday season.

I will be taking the day off from the blog tomorrow to spend time with my family.. I hope you all have the opportunity to share this holiday with your family!

Christmas is days away..

I’m happy to say that I’m done with all the Christmas preparations.

Gifts are wrapped.  Cards and made and done.  Gift tags are finished and written out to their recipients..

Life is good.

I’m going to take the next few days off of blogging.

No new entries for Dec 24 and 25.

I want to concentrate on family for the next few days.

Hopefully this break will give me time to recollect and find some new memories to add to this blog.

Have a great Christmas and see you on the 26th!

We’re about 11 days away until Christmas and I’m happy to say that I’m pretty much almost done with Christmas shopping!

We’ve probably got about less that five more gifts that we need to buy and then we’re done!

I did take the easy route and bought a lot of gift cards.  Being the terrible gift giver that I am, I always find it easier to just supply them with a gift card so they can get the thing that they acutally want!

The fun side of buying a bunch of gift cards is that I was able to make a whole bunch of handmade gift card holders.. hee hee.. (shameless plug to visit CutieQCardsnCrafts on Facebook.. don’t forget to LIKE it too.. )

Now the hard part is wrapping everything.. actually.. it’s more like finding the time to wrap everything..

I know I’ll get it done..

How far have you gotten on your Christmas shopping?!?!

Little M has been surrounded by the same set of toys for awhile and it’s starting to show.

She hasn’t been playing much with her toys.. she’s been more interested in what’s in the recycling bin (mostly milk cartons) and various  floor cleaning tools (she loves to play “vacuum”).

So I’m glad that Christmas is coming and she may be getting some new toys as gifts..

As of now, she still has some toys that we haven’t opened up for her to play with.  I think after the Christmas season, we are going to start packing away her older toys and taking out some of the newer ones.  We’ll pack to toys up for storage for future children to play with.

Maybe it will distract her from playing old milk cartons.. silly kiddo!

Black Friday is coming up…

That means Christmas shopping will be starting up soon.

I’ve got my list, and I’m pretty sure we can find gifts for everyone on the list.. I just have one that I’m unsure of..

Little M.

This is her second Christmas.  She’s fully aware of how to open gifts, play with toys, play with boxes, play with paper.. etc.

But what am I going to give her?

My parents are most likely going to get here that Rockstar Elmo that plays the drums and sings songs.  M loves watching Elmo sing whenever we find ourselves in the toy aisle.

I was going to get her the first and second season of The Fresh Beat Band and both CDs of their music.

But, I can always let her watch episodes off of Netflix.. so why spend the money on the DVDs?!?

She’s also very much into Dora the Explorer.. so I can probably find something for her Dora-related..

I just don’t know what to get her..

I think I’m going to have to take her to Toys R Us and let her roam the aisles so I can see what sort of toys she is drawn to.  Then I can make my selection from there..

How did you decide what to give your toddlers for Christmas?
