Living life in the carpool lane..

Posts Tagged ‘busy

There was been a deafening silence coming from my blog recently.

I have only one explanation.

I’m busy.

Work has kept me so busy that I haven’t had the time to collect my thoughts.  I usually come in a little early before work and find some time to put down a couple of blog ideas on paper so I can type them up during a break or when I get home.  It’s usually on my commute when I think of the ideas, so getting to them to paper as soon as I get to work helps me not forget them.

Home life has been busy.   CutieQ Cards n Crafts has been working on projects non-stop.  I’ve got at least 5 custom orders I need to get out and so home life has been a hectic juggle of mommy duties and crafting duties.  All the running around leaves me very little time to blog.  The spare time I do have, I spend hugging and cuddling M… and playing with Play Doh..

My One Little Word this year is CHALLENGE and I wanted that word to help push myself to blog every day, here and on the craft blog.  It’s slowly evolving into a CHALLENGE to keep myself balanced and sane.

No, I’m not complaining.  I love the productivity, especially when it comes to the crafting.  I love the action, I love having something to do.

My life is definitely NOT boring.  I have things to blog about.  I just need the time.

I can forgo another hour of sleep to update the blog for you guys, right?

Hubby made an excellent point this past weekend.

It’s common knowledge in our household, and among my friends and family that I’m completely burnt out.

Hubby says, “The reason we are burnt out is because we don’t rest on the weekends.”

Oh.  Yeah.

For the past few weekends, it’s been one thing after another.  It’s been pumpkin patches, birthday parties, zoos, farmers markets, malls, lunches, dinners, parks… you name it.. we went there.

He’s got a point.  Sometimes, you just need to rest.

So that’s what we are going to do this weekend.  We are going to sleep in, we’re going to stay at home.. we are going to rest.

Except, there is still lots to do in the reorganization of the second bedroom.  There’s a lot of fix in our storage area.  There’s a lot to do…

Don’t forget the never ending laundry…

So, we’ll rest.. but not rest.. and hopefully not feel so burned out.

I’m sitting here on my “monday” at work.  It’s my first day back at work from a looooong weekend.

To clarify:
Last week, I worked Mon-Wednesday.  Then, I was on a retreat from Thurs-Sun.  I was off Mon-Tues.  Now I work the rest of the week, Wed-Fri.

Next week should start to become “normal.”

I have simply been NON-STOP lately because on top of all these things, I’ve been having to juggle school!

Lord, have mercy!

I shouldn’t complain.  Being busy is good.  It makes the time go by faster and I do feel productive and needed.

A nap would be nice though.
