Ok.  I’ll admit it.

I’m getting lazy.

And it’s around this time that I usually drop the blog and take another unannounced break.

I’m not going to lie, it’s hard keeping this up.

I have a good long list of blog topics to write about, and I’m too lazy to do them

Mainly because a lot of them involve pictures and it’s a little bit more of a hassle to add pictures to the blog.  There’s the watermarking, the uploading, the html adding…

What happened to the days when I just aimlessly typed whatever I wanted and it didn’t have to make sense?

I guess they are gone now.  I mean, I had to grow up eventually, right?  This blog needed to gain some maturity and some direction.  I’m not just some over emotional young adult discovering this new platform of blogging to express myself.  All the ‘teen angst’ I was actually too old for is just not who I am anymore.

So, I push through.

I give into the laziness and write a rambling post like this.  And then I push through

I will push through the long list of blog topics I have in the hopes that people will want to read what I have to offer.

But tonight, I ramble.

At least it’s not giving up and abandoning the blog… AGAIN!

I’ve got a long list of topics to tackle and I can’t be lazy about it anymore.  It’s time to push through and get it done.

What do you do when you find yourself too lazy to blog?

A year or two ago, I joined the Top Mommy Blogs network.

The idea was to help generate traffic by climbing the ranks of the network through reader votes.  All the readers had to do was click on the little button I would paste at the end of each blog post.

At my best, I was within the top 50 blogs of my category.

Now that I’ve taken a year off of actively pasting the button on the bottom of entries, I’ve dropped down to around #150-ish in my category and about #570-ish overall.

Can we change that?

I’m going to start pasting that little badge at the bottom of each blog post and all you have to do is click it!  There is no sign-up.  There is no subscribing.  Just click the badge.

Clicking the badge will send you to the Top Mommy Blogs voting page.   If you like my blog, please consider clicking the ‘yes’ side of the screen.  Clicking that will send you to the actual Top Mommy Blogs site where you can browse other blogs, or you can close your browser and call it a day!

Click the badge each day after a new blog post is posted.  One vote per day will help me climb the ranks once again and help me gain more exposure.

Seems easy, right?

Looking back on the blog posts from before I took my six month hiatus, I notice that I was beginning to incorporate more pictures into the blog posts.

Noted.

As I’m slowly starting to get back into the blogging world, I will work on adding more photos to my blog posts.

Baby steps.  Baby steps.

Look who’s back!

I’ve missed this little space in the blogosphere!

Life got the best of me and I was feeling so overwhelmed.  Something had to go to the wayside, and apparently, it was this blog.

I did try to start another blog, a food blog.  It’s Joe, Party of 4, if you’re interested.  Even that fell to the wayside.  I do plan on bringing that blog back, as well.

Baby steps.  Baby steps.

I missed blogging.  I missed this outlet.

Instead of tentatively thinking about starting this up again, I decided to just do it.  So here I am.

So much has happened since my last posting, we’ve got a lot of catching up to do.

I’m still not sure what direction this blog is going to go, but I’m just going to keep blogging until I figure it out!

Stay tuned, this is gonna be fun!

I’ve admitted several times already that after I became a stay at home mom, finding time to blog and maintain a daily blog is hard.

The difficulty of maintaining a blog is seen in the many days in between blog posts.  I’m sure you’ve noticed the sudden spurts of blog posts, then a few days of rest, then another burst of posts again…

I made the decision to not let blogging stress me out.  While I want to maintain a daily blog, I know that my current situation will not always allow it.  I will not let that bother me.  However, I DO want to keep up with this blog.  It keeps my thoughts in order, stores my memories, and I’m hoping my children will read this one day to get a glimpse of what my life was before them and with them…

I set up a blogging schedule.  That’s where Mondays come into play.  On Mondays, we blog…

My Monday is reserved for blogging.  The ideal scenario is to have seven blog posts completed that day, one blog post for every day of that week, until next Monday.  To make sure I have seven topics to write about, I keep a list of the blog topics I want to discuss in my planner for that Monday.  I think about various topics throughout the week and when a topic comes up, I write it down.  I try to find a good mix of family life topics and crafting topics for the week.  That way, when Monday comes, I’m not wrecking my brain for a blog topic.

Now, the goal is to write all seven in one day.  I start the day by opening up my laptop and keeping it open in the living room all day.  When the baby naps, or decides she doesn’t want me to hold her, I will sit on my chair and write.  When the kids need me, I stop.  Simple.  When Hubby comes home, I can concentrate a little harder on getting more entries completed.

If I get to all seven, great!  I’m set for that week!

If I don’t get to all seven, that’s ok too.  I take the topics that I missed and I write them down on to next Monday’s list.  I won’t try to finish the rest of the list during the week.  I only blog on Mondays.  That way, I can spend the rest of the week with kids, working on crafts, house work… etc.  If I don’t make all seven that just means that there will be a few days that week that won’t have a blog entry… and I’m not going to stress over that at all.

How do you find the time to blog?  What’s your blogging schedule?  Share them here on the comments below!

If you’ve followed me for awhile, you know I have a craft blog.

CutieQ Cards n Crafts

I have to be completely honest and confess that I have the most difficult time keeping it up.

There are photos that need to be taken, then edited, then the blog posts need more care because of the photos that need to be added to them.

It takes a lot of time. Time I don’t really have to keep it going on a daily or weekly basis.

Plus it means I have to constantly be creating. That’s near impossible at this stage of my life.

It’s disappointing that I can’t get my act straight to keep up with it.

So I’ve been thinking of adding more crafting here. I could turn this into a “mommy/crafting” blog.  It would be a temporary thing, until I can sanely pull them apart and keep two blogs successfully running at the same time.

What do you think?  Would it cause you to not want to read my blog? Would you want to know more about my crafty side?

Let me know.

When I was a working mom, it was easy to find the time to blog. I would sit at my computer when I had some down time and type away.

Now that I stay home, there really is no such thing as down time. Maybe if I can get both kids to nap at the same time , but that’s nearly impossible.

I could probably do it when the baby sleeps and then keep M occupied with something else, but the minute she sees my laptop open, she’s right by my side asking to go on sproutonline.com.

So, blog topics have been piling up as a to-do item in my planner…

I hate neglecting this blog.

So, how do I fix it?

I blog on my phone. Yes, as uncomfortable as this is, I am typing up a blog post on my phone. I’m using the WordPress app.

I’m probably going to end up with carpal tunnel syndrome as a result. But for now, this is working.

With the new month coming up, I’m challenging myself to make the time to blog more. It worked in February when I did the ABCs.

I did it then, I can do it now.

By the way, happy 5 months to my little K. Time is flying for us, little one. Enjoy the baby life. I want to savor every moment.
